My first vacation to Hawaii was not only a wonderful experience but also an eye opener to the many fruits and exotic foods of the Hawaiian Islands. If you have ever been there you know what I’m talking about. I really enjoyed my first luau where we feasted on many Island favorites. I especially remember how good the meat tasted slathered in a bbq sauce consisting of pineapple and mango. Once back home I searched for a bbq sauce that could bring back those memorable times. I never found one so I created my own.
My sweet tasting bbq sauce is made with the freshest pineapple and mango. There is absolutely no heat, just the lovely taste of island fruit. Try it on fish, poultry, pork, as a dip, or a glaze for roast ham or turkey. I’m sure that after just one taste you’ll believe you’re on the Hawaiian shores dining like Polynesian royalty.
